TUI Cruises cancels the first "Blue Cruise" on Mein Schiff 1

TUI Cruises restarts cruises with Mein Schiff 2 from Port Hamburg Germany on July 24. However, the first departure of Mein Schiff 1 (out of Kiel Germany) has been canceled and the liner will only make a short cruise to nowhere from Kiel on August 3.

TUI actually canceled the first "Blue Cruise" on Mein Schiff 1 and the voyage is already removed from the company's booking system (can't be booked). The reason for the cancellation is that TUI has not gotten Mein Schiff 1's crew fast enough.

TUI issued a statement saying that due to the worldwide (COVID-related) travel restrictions, the start team (staff-crew) of Schiff 1 was not yet completely onboard. Therefore, contrary to the initial planning, TUI Schiff 1 restarts cruises from August 3, 2020.

TUI added the it would inform all customers until August 3, 2020, who would receive an "attractive alternative offer" to come onboard. After the short break on August 3, Schiff 1 and Schiff 2 will sail on 7-day itineraries to Norway's fjords but without any port calls/stops.
