3 crew test positive for COVID-19 on 2 Costa Cruises ships

Three crew on the Costa Cruises ships Costa Favolosa and Costa Deliziosa have tested COVID-positive. Both liners are moored at homeport Civitavecchia-Rome, Italy with no passengers onboard but a few hundreds of people who make up their respective crews.

At first, there were 2 suspected cases (both Filipino) - one onboard for months (on Favolosa) and the other just arrived in Italy and is already in isolation (on Deliziosa). AIDA clarified that there were 3 positive cases (2 on Favolosa, 1 on Deliziosa) that had been identified due to the constant application of the health protocols for boarding and use onboard.

According to Costa Cruises, the three crew were quarantined and in good health. The company, remaining in close contact with the local health authorities, "closely follows the evolution of the matter and, in agreement with the latter, will evaluate further actions to be taken in the coming days".
