Viking Venus cruise ship's Godmother revealed

Viking Cruises announced that British journalist and broadcaster Anne Diamond will be serving as the godmother of its 7th ocean ship, Viking Venus.

The 930-passenger Viking Venus was floated out in June 2020 and is currently under final construction at the Fincantieri shipyard in Ancona, Italy.

Anne Diamond is popular for her work on morning shows in the UK during the 1980s, along with a career in front-line television that has spanned 40+ years.

She has also been an activist in the sudden death campaign in the UK of 1991, following the death of her son. She is the only non-physician to have had the Royal College of Pediatrics and Child Health Medal.

Additionally, Diamond has been a key figure on Viking.TV (March 2020-launched) in the early stages of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Every week she has interviewed figures associated with the cruise company.
