Princess Cruises introduced Ocean Sportsbook - a real-time sports betting option available on all MedallionClass liners. The new option gives passengers the chance to bet on major sports competitions - including professional and college football, basketball, baseball, hockey as well as various other international and domestic events.
When the cruise ship is in international waters, passengers can use the MedallionClass app to wager on sports competitions and place prop bets during live events that take place during the voyage. They also can place bets on future competitions that occur after the voyage.
With USD 20+ billion in wagers placed with USA's sportsbooks in 2019-2020, sports betting is experiencing growth and expected to reach USD 155+ billion by 2024.
Built via partnership with Miomni (software developer), Ocean Sportsbook will be available on all MedallionClass Princess cruise ships when they restart passenger shipping operations in 2021. Ocean Sportsbook is part Ocean Casino's digital platform that lets wagers be placed beyond the ship's Casino Lounge (pool decks, wellness complex/spa-gym, staterooms, etc) on an assortment of games including slots, poker, blackjack, roulette, bingo, lottery, keno.
MedallionClass ships are fitted with the OceanMedallion technology that serves wearable digital devices connected to the SES-powered MedallionNet.
All MedallionClass Princess cruise ships feature touchless embarkation/disembarkation (homeport), keyless cabin entry, frictionless commerce, contactless capabilities like way-finding, on-demand service delivery, shipboard family and friends locator, interactive entertainment (first-run movies, live TV, events and activities planner).
