Windstar Cruises’ flagship Wind Surf restarts Mediterranean voyages from Barcelona

The USA-headquartered (Xanterra Parks and Resorts-owned) company Windstar welcomed back its 342-passenger flagship Wind Surf to the sea.

The sailing ship departed on August 8th on an 8-day voyage from Barcelona Spain to Lisbon Portugal, visiting Palma de Mallorca (Majorca Island, Balearic Spain), Cartagena Spain, Almeria Spain, Malaga Spain, Gibraltar UK, and Cadiz-Sevilla Spain.

4 of the fleet’s 6 yachts are currently back in service.

Windstar is restarting in a phased manner, with its fleet debuting on different dates through November 2021, while requiring COVID vaccines of all guests amongst a host of health & safety precautions including testing, masks, social distancing, and high-tech air filtration.

Windstar’s Wind Star yacht resumed operations in Greece on June 19, and on July 10, Star Breeze commenced sailing in the Caribbean. On July 15, Wind Spirit restarted operations in Tahiti.

All Windstar ships are sailing with vaccinated passengers and crew.
