The 3 MSC Cruises ships deployed in Brazil for winter season 2021-2022 will be all anchored off Copacabana Beach on New Year's Eve for the fireworks of Rio de Janeiro.

The liners MSC Seaside, MSC Splendida, and MSC Preziosa will be anchored off Rio's coast in order to experience the "New Year’s Reveillon" celebration and spectacular fireworks.

The news came as a surprise because of the sudden change of plans on MSC Splendida's itinerary, which was scheduled to spend a day at sea on New Year's Eve. Splendida passengers received the surprise after boarding in Santos/Sao Paulo on December 26, when with the announcement of the captain on the PA system they were informed that the Reveillon cruise would proceed to Copacabana beach.
