Cruising into the new 2022, thousands of passengers are rejecting CDC's advice not to sail as COVID cases reach record numbers.

The CDC issued the guidance despite every passenger 12+ being required to be vaccinated.

In a statement on December 30, Richard Fain (Royal Caribbean's Chairman) wrote they didn’t like to see even one case, but their experience was "a fraction of the comparable statistics of virtually any other comparable location or industry."

RCI said that since restarting in the summer, a total of 1700 of its 1,1 million passengers had tested COVID-positive, with 41 of them hospitalized and none with the Omicron variant.

Following the departure of the liner Independence OTS on Friday, and DCL's Disney Dream, 6 more ships were scheduled to sail out of Port Canaveral/Orlando (Florida USA) over the weekend.
