The latest ship in Celebrity Cruises’ Edge Series, Celebrity Beyond successfully completed her sea trials over the weekend and sailed back to the French shipbuilder Chantiers de l’Atlantique in Saint-Nazaire (France).
In less than 80 days, the newbuild will make her highly anticipated debut on April 27th when she departs on the Maiden Voyage from Southampton (England UK).
Celebrity Beyond conducted the sea trials during the first week of February 2022 in Biscay Bay, close to the French shipyard. Overseen by 50+ crew, including the female Master - Captain Kate McCue, nautical experts, and engineers, the vessel showcased that her strength and superb sailing capabilities go beyond her amenities. Celebrity Beyond displayed a superior level of safety, maneuverability, fuel efficiency, and comfort, part of the revolutionary design of the Parabolic Ultrabow.
Celebrity Beyond will not only hold the title of the biggest cruise ship in the Celebrity's fleet but the distinction as the brand’s most luxurious liner.
Standing at 17 decks high and 21 m longer than her predecessors Celebrity Edge (2018) and Celebrity Apex (2020), Beyond’s look and feel has been curated with newly imagined spaces and expanded versions of Celebrity’s signature spaces.
Celebrity Beyond is scheduled to depart on April 27 from Southampton on a 10-night Western Europe itinerary (repositioning voyage from the UK to the Mediterranean) visiting Bordeaux (France), Lisbon (Portugal), and Spain's Cadiz-Sevilla, Malaga, Palma de Mallorca, and Barcelona.
She will then offer Mediterranean journeys including 9-night Italian Riviera & France and 10-night Greek Isles itineraries through early October when the ship heads to the Caribbean.
