Isle of Eriskay is one of Scotland's Outer Hebrides Islands. It is is located between Barra and South Uist (both are connected via a causeway since 2001). Also in 2001 Eriskay Island became a ferry port for traveling between Barra and South Uist. A Caledonian MacBrayne car and passenger ferry ship operates between Ceann a' Ghàraidh, Eriskay, Ardmore and Barra (travel time 40 min).

In 2009 the previously built quay facilities at the natural harbour of Acarsaid Mhor were modernised and extended, with improved vehicular access. Smaller fishing boats continue to use the Haun bay in good weather. Acarsaid Mhor is also used by visiting yachts.
