Kampong Tralach is a district situated in the southeast of Kampong Chhnang Province, central Cambodia. The capital of the district is Kampong Tralach, a town located 37 km south of Kampong Chhnang's provincial capital by road. The district has a shared border to the south with Kandal province and to the east with Kampong Cham province. Tonle Sap river runs through Kampong Tralach district, roughly crossing from north to south.
The district features significant road infrastructure. National Highway 5 runs from Phnom Penh to Poipet and crosses Kampong Tralach district from north to south. Kampong Tralach is one of the smaller districts in the province of Kampong Chhnang by land area but has one of the biggest district populations in the province because of the well irrigated land and very good transport infrastructure. 138th National Road starts at Kampong Tralach - it runs across the district to its Chleb terminus in Tuek Phos district. A wealth of smaller tertiary roads run either to Tonle Sap, or to the nearby national railway line.
