Kampong Tralach is a Tonle Sap River (Mekong River) cruise port and town in southeastern Kampong Chhnang province (central Cambodia). The town is located 37 km () south of Kampong Chhnang (provincial capital city) by road. The district borders to the south with Kandal province and to the east with Kampong Cham province. Tonle Sap River crosses the district north to south.

The district has significant road infrastructure. National Highway 5 runs from Phnom Penh (Cambodia's capital) to Poipet and crosses Kampong Tralach north to south. 138th National Road starts at Kampong Tralach and runs across the district to its terminus Chleb (Tuek Phos district). Smaller roads run either to Tonle Sap or to the nearby national railway.
