Emerald Destiny cabins and suites

Follows review of Emerald Destiny cabins, covering amenities, furniture, and complimentary services:

• All Emerald Destiny cabins feature either queen-size beds or convertible twin-bed configurations (except Single cabins, which have one bed sized 79 x 63 inches / 200 x 160 cm). Standard amenities include bedside tables, mirrored panels by the bed, private en-suite bathroom (WC, sink, shower cubicle, mirrored cupboards, mirror over the basin, clothesline, luxury bath products such as shampoo, liquid soap, conditioner, and body lotion), walk-in closet (large wardrobe with hangers), personal safe, direct-dial phone, flat HDTV (satellite channels, news, movies, infotainment system, movies on demand, and “View From the Bridge” real-time webcam views), mini-bar (stocked with beer, wine, soft drinks, and snacks at an additional cost, complimentary only in Owner’s Suites), individual climate control, 220V European outlets (plus one Australian socket; US guests must bring adapters), umbrella, shoe cleaner, and two sets of earplugs.
• All Suite cabins have floor-to-ceiling sliding doors. Marketed as “Balcony Suites,” these are one-room cabins with an “indoor veranda” (replacing the French Balcony found on other ships). The windows drop down halfway at the push of a button. Behind the main curtain, an inner insect screen is provided.
• Owner’s Suites feature a separate bedroom and lounge/living area with sofa, bathroom with double sinks, and a sit-out balcony furnished with two wooden chairs (with padded seats) and a small round table. Additional perks include a complimentary mini-bar (restocked daily), Nespresso coffee machine, iPad, in-room dining (continental breakfast, pre-dinner canapés, and after-dinner sweets), and complimentary laundry (4 items per day).
• Grand Suites include a Nespresso coffee machine, en-suite dining (continental breakfast, canapés, sweets), and complimentary laundry (2 items per day).
• All Standard staterooms have large fixed Picture Windows.
• Laundry service is available for a fee per item, with pickup from staterooms by housekeeping staff.
• Cabin access is via magnetic chip instead of key cards. Chips are attached to lanyards.
• A daily program of scheduled activities is delivered to cabins each night. The cruise director also provides a nightly port talk with an overview of the next day’s ports of call and shore excursions.
• Complimentary Wi-Fi is available throughout the ship.
