Emerald Sky cabins review
Follows review of Emerald Sky cabins, covering amenities, furniture, and complimentary services:
- All Emerald Sky cabins feature queen-size or convertible twin beds (except Single cabins, which have one bed measuring 79 x 63 inches / 200 x 160 cm), bedside tables, mirrored panels, and private en-suite bathrooms (with WC, small sink, shower cubicle, mirrored cupboards, mirror over the basin, clothesline, and luxury bath products including shampoo, liquid soap, conditioner, and body lotion). Additional amenities include a walk-in closet (large wardrobe with hangers), personal safe, direct-dial phone, flat-screen HDTV (satellite channels, news and movies, infotainment system, movies on demand, and “View From the Bridge” real-time webcam), fully stocked mini-bar (beer, wine, soft drinks, and snacks at extra charge, except complimentary for Owner’s Suites), individual climate control, 220V European power outlets (plus one Australian socket; US passengers should bring adapters), umbrella, shoe cleaner, and two sets of earplugs.
- All Suite cabins have floor-to-ceiling sliding doors. Marketed as “Balcony Suites,” they are one-room cabins with an “indoor veranda” (instead of the French balcony found on other ships). The windows drop halfway with the push of a button. An inner screen behind the main curtain prevents insects from entering.
- Owner’s Suites feature a separate bedroom and living area with sofa, a bathroom with two sinks, and a sit-out balcony furnished with two wooden chairs (padded seats) and a small round table. Additional Owner’s Suite perks include a complimentary mini-bar (restocked daily), Nespresso coffee maker, iPad, in-room dining (continental breakfast, pre-dinner canapés, and after-dinner sweets), and complimentary laundry (four items per day).
- Grand Suites offer additional perks such as a Nespresso coffee maker, in-suite dining (continental breakfast, canapés, sweets), and complimentary laundry (two items per day).
- All Standard staterooms are fitted with large fixed Picture Windows.
- Onboard laundry service is available at an extra charge, with items collected directly from staterooms by housekeeping staff.
- Cabin access is provided by magnetic chips attached to lanyards, replacing traditional key cards.
- A daily program of scheduled activities is delivered to cabins each evening. The Emerald Sky cruise director also hosts a nightly port talk, outlining the next day’s destinations, ports of call, and excursion options.
- Complimentary Wi-Fi internet is available throughout the ship.
