Review of Azura deck 7 (Promenade)

  • The Playhouse Theatre (balcony / upper level 2 of 2)
  • The Glass House (wine bar, and steakhouse/seafood specialty restaurant by celebrity wine expert Olly Smith; open 11am-11pm; this is the venue for the P&O “food and wine” cruise experience; casual dining at surcharge GBP 5.25-7.50 PP). The Glass House features a well stocked wine cellar along with daytime and evening menus. It serves food & wine combinations, and each course comes with an option of different glass of wine matched by Olly Smith. The menu includes a variety of dining options, such as small plates of food at GBP 4.95 for 3 dishes, larger plates comprising of prime steaks with hand cut chips (GBP 4.50-7.50) and individual dishes including Speciality Burgers, Fish and Chips (GBP 4.95). Desserts include Chocolate Tart and Lemon Cheesecake and cost GBP 2.75. The Glass House also features Enomatic wine system enabling guests to sample wine by the glass rather than having to buy the entire bottle. Wine flights are also offered and consist of three 125 ml glasses of different wines. There are 7 different flights to choose from each with different theme from wines from classic wine growing regions to luxury wines. Prices range from GBP 9.95 up to GBP 13.95 for matching food & wine flights.
  • The Blue Bar (Champagne & Cocktails bar) featuring a specialty menu with classic and contemporary cocktails. Guests can choose from a selection of caviar and champagne served in 28g dishes on crushed ice accompanied by chopped egg, blinis, sour cream, parsley, lemon and onion (charges are around GBP35 for Sevruga Caviar, GBP38 for Osetra Caviar). A nice touch is a bowl of vegetable crisps served with drinks.  
  • Azura Atrium (level 3), Atrium ships – Eternity (jewelry boutique), Essence (perfumes boutique)
  • Malabar Lounge (Indian themed, with a bar, piano, live music performances). 
  • Sindhu (Indian cuisine specialty restaurant by celebrity chef Atul Kochhar/London; open for dinner 6:30-9:30pm, from 11am to 6pm serving Indian Tapas (Nashta, comprising of 3 dishes such as Chicken Fillet Lollipops, Chilli Fried Calamari and Stir Fried Duck Supreme, for GBP 4.95), Indian beer and exotic cocktails; at surcharge GBP 15-25 PP). Dishes range from starters of Trio of Spice Crusted Scallops or Asparagus & Tandoori Paner Salad, Mains of Lavender Chicken Korma or Griddled Prawns with Spiced Pepper, and Desserts of Layered Pancake Gateau or Citrus White Chocolate Mousse.
