Review of CMV Vasco da Gama-Nicko deck 8 (Upper-Dining)
Upper Deck's layout starts with “Hollywood's” theatre (balcony level 2 of 2).
Next is the Atrium’s upper level is served by the Ocean Bar (starboard). Ocean Bar provides a home-like environment, furnished with comfortable lounges and small coffee tables. Ocean Bar is designed to be the living room of the ship. Armchair aerobics, trivia and word games are also held here. At 7:30 pm starts live music performances and guests can partake of the selection of wine, beers on tap and cocktails.
Deck 8 has the ship’s all three “Tax & Duty-Free Shops” (Shopping Galleria), including a general store for convenience goods. One shop is located portside in the Atrium area, the other two are located starboard. The onboard shops sell liquor, tobaccos, brand perfumes, cosmetics, sunglasses, fashion and accessories, luxury brand watches – all at duty-free prices.
The Casino / Sports Lounge is a gaming venue with roulette, blackjack, pontoon, 3-card poker, Texas Hold'em Poker tables and slot machines. Complimentary gambling lessons are offered for beginners. The Sports Lounge is served by its own bar.
“Blue Room” (portside) is a New Orleans-inspired classy bar venue with live music performances (incl funk, jazz, blues, R&B).
The ship’s Library (books and board games) is combined with Internet Cafe (rates are per minute).
The Grill is a reservations-only specialty restaurant (at a fee per person).
“Chef’s Table” is another specialty dining venue at surcharge PP. The “Chef’s Table” package offers a gourmet private dining experience (reservations are required). The package is inclusive of a cocktail reception, gourmet canapes made by the ship’s Executive Chef, and a tour of the galley. Once seated, guests are guided through each course of the menu and matching wines. Chef's Table is held every evening and takes 3 to 4 hours.
Aft are located two MDRs/Dining Rooms - Waterfront Mediterranean (starboard) and Waterfront Fusion (portside/fka Waterfront Eurasia).
