Viking Var (built in 2013) is one of the new-generation Viking Cruises longships. This river cruise ship is named after Var – the Norse mythology goddess of oaths. Through her, spoken words are bound to will and truth. As one of the protective female deities, Var oversees all agreements, contracts, and vows between women and men. A seeker of truth, she is also one of the 11 handmaidens of Odin’s wife – Frigg (goddess of marriage and motherhood). In Old Norse, the name Var means “pledge” and also “beloved”.
Viking Var’s deck plan includes a total of 95 staterooms for 190 passengers, served by 50 crew and staff, across 4 passenger decks. The ship is equipped with 1 glass elevator (connecting the Main and Upper decks only). The Viking longship Var does not have a gym, pool/whirlpool, or spa. However, guests may access health and spa facilities at luxury hotels along the ship’s itinerary.
Viking Var deck plans are property of Viking River Cruises. All deck layouts are for informational purposes only and CruiseMapper is not responsible for their accuracy.
