Viking Rolf (built in 2016) is one of Viking's longships. The riverboat is named after the Viking chieftain Rolf (also known as “Rolf the Ganger” and “Rollo”), who in 911 AD sailed down the Seine River to lay siege to Paris. He was later defeated by King Charles, who offered him land in exchange for protecting the region from future Viking attacks. Rolf accepted the offer, was granted land in Normandy, and became the first Duke (ruler) of the region. He was succeeded by his son Vilhjalm ("William the Conqueror") in 927 AD.
The Viking Rolf deck plan includes a total of 95 staterooms for 190 passengers, served by 50 crew and staff. She features 4 passenger decks and 1 glass elevator (serving the Main and Upper decks only). The longship does not have a gym, pool/whirlpool, or spa facilities. Guests may use health and spa facilities at luxury hotels along her itinerary.
