Viking Tialfi (built 2016) is one of the new generation Viking Cruises longships. This river cruise ship is named after the champion runner Tialfi – son of Egil (Norse Mythology’s hero from the Volundarkvida poem). Tialfi became a slave to the thunder god Tor (Thor/Dorr) after eating one of god’s goats. While on a journey with the hammer-wielding Thor, Tialfi raced against the illusory giant Hugi (an embodiment of thought) and naturally lost.
Viking Tialfi cruise ship deck plan has a total of 95 staterooms for 190 passengers served by 50 crew/staff, 4 passenger decks, 1 glass elevator (connecting Main-Upper decks only). The Viking longship Tialfi has no gym, pool/whirlpool or spa. Guests may access health & spa facilities at luxury hotels along the Tialfi’s itinerary route.
