Viking Jarl (built in 2013) is one of Viking's longships. The riverboat is named after Jarl, a figure from Norse mythology, the son of Heimdal and grandson of Odin (the father of the gods). According to legend, the god Heimdal (guardian of the gods) disguised himself as a human and traveled the earth, where he fathered three children of different social classes. Thrall was a serf, Karl was a freeman, and Jarl was the noble earl who married Erna, the daughter of Hersir. In Viking society, the title “jarl” (earl) signified an aristocrat serving the king, responsible for training warriors and overseeing vast territories.

Viking Jarl's deck plan includes a total of 95 staterooms accommodating 190 passengers, served by 50 crew and staff. She has 4 passenger decks and 1 glass elevator (connecting the Main and Upper decks only). The Viking longship Jarl has no gym, pool/whirlpool, or spa. Guests may use health and spa facilities at luxury hotels along her itinerary route.
