Viking Embla (built in 2012) is one of the new-generation Viking Cruises longships. The river cruise ship is named after Embla – in Norse mythology, the first woman and mother of humankind. Embla and the first man, Ask (Askr), were created from two tree trunks by Odin and his brothers, Vili and Ve, sons of the goddess Bestla. The gods then gave them the world, called Midgard, as their home.
The Viking Embla cruise ship deck plan includes a total of 95 staterooms for 190 passengers, served by 50 crew and staff. She features 4 passenger decks and 1 glass elevator (connecting the Main and Upper decks only). The Viking longship Embla does not have a gym, pool/whirlpool, or spa. Guests may access health and spa facilities at luxury hotels along the Embla’s itinerary route.
