The season commenced on February 22 and will end on December 21. A number of cruise companies will be visiting for the first time, including Ambassador Cruise Line, DCL-Disney Cruise Line, NCL-Norwegian Cruise Line, Silversea, and Ponant.

Eidfjord municipality is planning the introduction of shoreside electricity. A committee delivered a report to the city council which is going to discuss further action. Eidfjord's Simakraft Hydropower Station is one of the major suppliers of hydroelectricity in Norway.

A half-day cider safari is offered in Eidfjord for the first time during this summer. Passengers will embark on a local boat for a guided tour, stopping off in Ulvik Harbor and Osafjorden to visit Ulvik Fruit and Cider Farm for a 90-minute visit and tasting hosted by the owner. This is to be followed by a restaurant lunch showcasing local food. Vacationers will meet only locals, as well as taste only local products and will be told only local and traditional stories.
