The premium travel brand Seabourn made a historic maiden call in Portsmouth (England UK) as part of the port’s busiest cruise season ever.

The special occasion was marked with a plaque exchange between Councillor Hugh Mason (Portsmouth's Lord Mayor) and Captain Sybe de Boer.

The ship Seabourn Quest, which boasts award-winning penthouse suites, restaurants, and a spa, entered Portsmouth's harbour in the early hours of Thursday morning, August 4, before her 458 passengers disembarked for a day exploring the port city.

Seabourn, a subsidiary of Carnival Corporation, is famed for its ‘ultra-luxury’ cruising and taking its guests on journeys to some of the most desirable destinations in the world.

Work is now underway for a new cruise terminal extension in order to facilitate the growing number of passengers passing through the port. Due to be completed in Spring 2023, the new carbon neutral extension is expected to transform the port’s cruise & ferry offering and create the capacity to manage an anticipated additional ~250,000 passengers per year, on top of the current 2 million.

The cruise line will be returning to Portsmouth in October 2022 when Seabourn Ovation calls for the first time.
