Gangway collapsed while NCL's Norwegian Encore ship was in Panama City, multiple passengers injured

A gangway collapsed while an NCL-Norwegian Cruise Line ship was in Panama on Tuesday, November 8, injuring multiple (reportedly 11) passengers.

At the time of the accident, the Norwegian Encore ship was docked in Panama City (Port Fuerte Amador/Nov 7-8 overnight).

Six of the passengers who sustained injuries were immediately ambulanced to a nearby medical facility. NCL dispatched the company's CARE Team to Panama City to offer additional support to the injured.

NCL didn't specify the number of injured passengers, how severe the injuries were, or the reason why the structure collapsed.

NCL's Encore ship is currently on a 21-day Panama Canal voyage (RepositionCruises.com) from Alaska to Florida (Seattle WA to Miami).

The liner is scheduled to arrive in PortMiami on Sunday, November 13.
