The premium travel company Seabourn canceled 5 sailings of its newest ship Seabourn Venture which will be forced into unscheduled drydock for repairs, to be conducted in April.

According to a communication sent to booked guests/travel advisors, the expedition vessel is due to undergo repairs to her stabilizers. The correct functioning of these systems is essential to keep navigation as comfortable as possible. As a result, Seabourn made the difficult decision to cancel all cruises departing between April 7th and April 30th, 2023.

The canceled voyages include an Amazon expedition, a Transatlantic crossing (RepositionCruises.com), and two voyages in Northern Europe.

Affected passengers will receive full refunds including non-cruise fare purchases, flights booked through the Seabourn airline program, pre-/post-cruise hotels, transfers, shore excursions, onboard services, and more.

The luxury brand is also offering these passengers a 25% bonus Future Cruise Credit (FCC) that will be applied to their Seabourn Club account. The credit can be used on any of the line's traditional/expedition voyages that sail on/before December 31st, 2023.

The company is reimbursing certain non-refundable unforeseen expenses incurred by guests, such as flight change fees.

Venture is Seabourn's first purpose-built expedition ship which entered service in July 2022. The 264-passenger boat was designed to sail in remote/polar areas while offering the brand's signature ultra-luxury product.

After making her Northern European debut, Seabourn Venture sailed south for her maiden season in Antarctica, where she is currently operating.
