Amadeus River Cruises celebrated a significant event on May 17th in Cologne/Koln Germany – the christening of their newest riverboat - AMADEUS Riva. The occasion was marked by the presence of colleagues and partners from all over the world who joined in the festivities.

The AMADEUS Riva, a new and environmentally friendly addition to the AMADEUS fleet, commenced her voyages on May 20th. With this 135-meter vessel, the traditional Austrian cruise line once again raises the bar for luxury river cruising by incorporating innovative technologies for environmental protection while ensuring 5-star travel comfort. The ship will navigate the Danube and Rhine rivers, as well as the Dutch and Belgian Waterways.

AMADEUS Riva has 79 staterooms including 12 suites with walk-out balconies and 67 outside-view cabins, spread across 3 decks (out of 4) featuring predominantly retractable panoramic windows.

The ship adheres to the progressive design and high standards that the AMADEUS fleet is renowned for, providing generously designed public spaces and luxurious outdoor areas. The venues include bow-facing Panorama Restaurant (deck 2) and Panorama Bar (deck 3, with a dance floor, Cafe Vienna" and open-air River Terrace bar), a wellness area with massage services, a hairdresser, and a fitness center, as well as a spacious sun deck with a relaxed lounge and dining area.

AMADEUS Riva incorporates the latest sustainable travel technologies, similar to its sistership AMADEUS Cara. The state-of-the-art engine of the ship enables highly efficient energy management while significantly reducing CO2 emissions. In spring 2023, the AMADEUS fleet received the prestigious Green Award for its strong commitment to sustainability, recognizing the high safety and environmental standards maintained on board. The ship's newly developed air filtration system, featuring a two-stage purification process that eliminates aerosols potentially containing virus particles from indoor spaces, is equally modern and innovative.

Starting in spring 2023, guests have a variety of itineraries to choose from to explore the best of Europe with AMADEUS Riva. The boat will take passengers on a journey from the city of Passau, situated at the convergence of three rivers, to the magnificent city of Budapest. The 9-day cruise covers a distance of 1,200 miles along the Danube, offering a voyage of discovery through 7 countries and includes a visit to the Danube Delta.
