City officials have reported that NCL-Norwegian Cruise Line has decided to cancel all visits to Port Valdez (Alaska USA) scheduled for the ships Norwegian Spirit.

The cancellation affects the ship's remaining 2023 as well as the entire 2024 schedule.

Jeremy Talbott (Valdez Ports and Harbors' Director) stated that no specific reasons were given for this complete cancellation.

He mentioned that NCL had already made at least one stop in Valdez earlier in the year on May 16th, which was the company's first visit to the community in Prince William Sound.

Despite the cancellation, Talbott expressed the city's continued interest in collaborating with NCL in the future.

He also noted that other major cruise shipping companies, such as Viking OCEAN, HAL-Holland America, and Silversea, have already made stops in Valdez and are still scheduled to visit.

The discontinuation of NCL's visits to Valdez is considered a setback for tour companies operating in the area.
