A tragic incident unfolded aboard the RCI-Royal Caribbean cruise ship Allure of the Seas on Saturday, November 25, resulting in the death of a 16-year-old passenger who fell from a balcony to the deck.
The unfortunate event occurred in the early hours as the vessel was en route from Florida to the Bahamas.
Details regarding whether the fall was accidental remain unclear at this time.
Following the incident, the teenager succumbed to the injuries at a hospital, not on the ship. Extensive efforts were undertaken to save his life, including calls for passengers to contribute blood at a medical tent.
The circumstances surrounding the incident are currently under investigation.
At the time of the accident, Allure OTS was on a 3-day, roundtrip "Bahamas and Perfect Day" voyage from Port Canaveral/Orlando Florida. The visited Bahamian ports of call were Nassau (Nov 25) and CocoCay (Nov 26).
