The port of Kiel (Germany) reported a total of 1,187,148 passengers across 214 calls in the previous year. The Baltic Sea port hosted various vessels from major European shipping companies.

As the designated homeport for MSC's flagship, MSC Euribia, and the inaugural visits from North American companies like Disney, Kiel remains a favored destination for an international audience. Winter voyages are gaining significance, highlighted by the arrival of the Hanseatic Nature in January, with anticipated follow-up calls in the winter months.

The upcoming season in Kiel anticipates passenger numbers around the 1 million mark with a total of 173 calls.

The port operator prioritizes sustainable growth and continual process enhancement. The promotion of shore-side power supply for cruise ships, a collaborative effort with shipping companies, remains a focal point. In the 2024 season, the port aims to provide green electricity to 100 cruise calls through existing facilities.

With the planned expansion of the shore-side power plant at Ostseekai in 2025, the port will finalize its shore-side power infrastructure, ensuring ample supply options for ships at major ferry and cruise berths. In 2023, nearly half of all cruise ship and ferry calls in Kiel were facilitated with shore power, solidifying its standing as one of Europe's most comprehensive facilities.
