Princess Cruises and Fincantieri push back delivery date for Star Princess

Princess Cruises and Fincantieri jointly announced the decision to reschedule the delivery of the forthcoming Sphere Class vessel, Star Princess.

After a thorough assessment of the remaining construction phases, both entities have opted to modify the ship's delivery timeline from July 29, 2025, to September 26, 2025, leading to the cancellation of her 9 inaugural voyages.

Star Princess's maiden sailings will now embark on roundtrip journeys from Barcelona (Spain). These include an 11-day Mediterranean expedition commencing on October 4, 2025, followed by a 7-day Mediterranean cruise on October 15, 2025, preceding a 14-day transatlantic voyage to Fort Lauderdale (Florida USA) on October 22, 2025, marking the onset of the ship's inaugural Caribbean season. Reservations for these new voyages will open on April 30, 2024.

For guests booked on the affected sailings, three options will be provided: rebooking on any Princess cruise globally, including voyages aboard the new Star Princess, her sistership Sun Princess, or any other Princess ship. Those opting for rebooking will receive future cruise and onboard credits based on their chosen itinerary. Alternatively, guests can choose to cancel their reservation and receive a full refund of the cruise fare.

Princess Cruises will ensure that travel agent commissions on all fully paid bookings remain intact.

Star Princess represents the second installment in Princess's Sphere Class of ships, following her sistership Sun Princess, unveiled in February. Renowned for its iconic structural elegance, Star Princess introduces novel architectural features like The Dome, the industry's first geodesic structure on the upper deck, and The Sphere, a suspended glass Sphere Piazza positioned at the heart of the vessel, heralding a new era in cruising luxury and design.
