Virgin Voyages has announced the introduction of a revised fare model, scheduled to take effect on October 7th, 2025.
The system, branded as VoyageFair Choices, is intended to provide greater transparency, flexibility, and comparability in pricing, while retaining the company’s “Always Included Luxury” framework as the foundation of its service.
The new structure was developed in response to feedback from passengers and travel advisors. According to company leadership, the model seeks to align cruise booking practices more closely with the clarity long established in the airline and hotel sectors. Executives explained that the initiative was designed not as a promotional device but as a permanent restructuring of the way fares are presented, offering travelers increased choice and clearer distinctions between levels of service.
Three fare tiers will be available for Sea Terrace staterooms and below.
The Base fare provides the lowest entry point, with a non-refundable policy, a simplified WiFi package for one device, and dining reservations available 15 days before sailing.
The Essential fare maintains the current standard, offering broader WiFi access, a 45-day dining reservation window, and flexibility through future voyage credits and limited name change allowances.
The Premium fare expands benefits with a 60-day dining reservation window, higher-capacity WiFi suitable for streaming, a drinks credit, and access to priority pre-voyage support.
For RockStar and Mega RockStar Quarters, the principal change is the extension of dining reservation access to 120 days before departure. All existing inclusions, such as exclusive venues, priority boarding, in-suite amenities, and dedicated service, remain unchanged.
Virgin Voyages has also revised the presentation of service gratuities.
Previously bundled into fares, these contributions will now be displayed as a separate line item at booking. Rates are set at US$20 per passenger per night if prepaid, or US$22 when settled onboard.
The company emphasized that the overall cost of a voyage remains the same and that no additional tipping is expected once gratuities are covered.
Virgin underlined that core cruise inclusions—valued at more than US$1,000 per passenger—remain part of every fare. These encompass multiple dining options, group fitness, WiFi, beverages including soda and water, and onboard entertainment.
The revised pricing system is intended to allow travelers to select the balance of cost, benefits, and flexibility most suitable to their requirements while maintaining the line’s established service standards.
