The Italian shipbuilder Fincantieri has launched Seven Seas Prestige at its Marghera shipyard in Italy, advancing construction of the first vessel in a new class for luxury operator Regent Seven Seas Cruises, part of Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings Ltd. The ship is slated for delivery in late 2026, with a second unit of the same class scheduled to follow in 2030 and an additional sister ship ordered for delivery in 2033, underscoring the ongoing collaboration between the shipyard and the cruise line.
At the float-out ceremony, the hull of Seven Seas Prestige was moved from dry dock to the outfitting berth, a key milestone in ship construction that reflects significant progress toward completion. The vessel measures approximately 257 meters in length and 76,550–77,000 gross tons, and is designed to host 822 passengers in an all-suite configuration that yields one of the highest space-to-guest ratios in contemporary ultra-luxury cruising.
The new class represents a decade-long evolution in Regent’s fleet development, following earlier classes that also were constructed by Fincantieri. In keeping with modern shipbuilding trends in the upper end of the market, Seven Seas Prestige is being outfitted with advanced environmental technologies alongside refined passenger amenities, reflecting both operational efficiency and the expectations of discerning ocean travellers.
Completion of Seven Seas Prestige will expand Regent’s capacity in the ultra-luxury segment, and the commissioning of additional ships in the same class through 2033 demonstrates confidence in long-term demand for high-end cruise experiences at sea.
