Seabourn and Uniworld forge expanded river‑to‑sea voyages for 2027

In advance of the 2027 cruising season, the luxury operators Seabourn and Uniworld Boutique River Cruises have established an enlarged programme of combined river and sea passages that integrate exploration of Mediterranean coastal waters with detailed navigation of the Venetian Lagoon. This expanded series builds on strong demand for earlier hybrid voyages that paired the deep‑sea vessel Seabourn Ovation with Uniworld’s river‑going super ship S.S. La Venezia, an arrangement first introduced in the 2026 portfolio and now extended with three enhanced itineraries for the following year.

One of the principal itineraries, designated The Wonders of the Adriatic & the Venetian Lagoon, is arranged over sixteen days and begins with an ocean leg from Piraeus aboard Seabourn Ovation, making calls along the coasts of Croatia, Montenegro and Slovenia before arriving at Fusina near Venice. From there, passengers transfer to S.S. La Venezia for a river and lagoon segment that visits Burano, Chioggia and other destinations within the Venetian waterways, affording opportunities to observe settings beyond the principal city’s typical anchorage.

A second 16‑day route, The Best of Italy, Croatia & Malta, reverses that order, commencing with the lagoon navigation aboard S.S. La Venezia before joining Ovation for a coastal progression that encompasses ports in Croatia, the Greek islands and southern Italy, including a call at Sorrento. An extended version of this route, The Best of Italy, Croatia & Malta with Slovenia, lengthens the programme to 19 days by opening with a 3‑night stay in Ljubljana and excursions to inland landmarks at Lake Bled and the Postojna Caves prior to the commencement of the La Venezia leg in Venice and subsequent ocean segment aboard Ovation.

The combined programme marks a deliberate response to earlier rapid sales and reflects the alignment of river and ocean cruising experiences for a segment of passengers that traverse both sectors of the market. The integration of small‑ship river navigation within the Venetian Lagoon—one of the few vessels permitted in that environment—with extended Mediterranean sea passages presents a coordinated series of voyages that link inland waterway discovery to broader maritime exploration.

All of the 2027 river‑and‑ocean combinations featuring Seabourn Ovation and S.S. La Venezia are now open for reservation through Uniworld’s booking channels.
