The Seatrade Cruise Global 2026 conference has drawn to a close, marking the largest event in the organization’s history, which spans more than four decades. The gathering, held at the Miami Beach Convention Center, attracted over 12500 attendees from 125 countries, representing more than 85 cruise line brands.

Chiara Giorgi, Global Brand and Event Director for Seatrade Cruise, stated that the 2026 event had officially become the largest in the organization’s 41-year history. She added that the scale of attendance spoke to the energy, resilience, and momentum then being observed across the global cruise community.

Attendees engaged in discussions covering digital transformation, sustainability, evolving guest expectations, and operational innovation. The exhibition floor hosted more than 650 exhibitors from sectors including ship design, technology, hospitality, and onboard services, offering a comprehensive view of the innovations redefining the cruise experience.

The 2026 program opened with the World Cruise Tourism Summit, which set the tone for the week ahead by dedicating a full day to the evolving role of destinations in shaping the future of cruise and global travel.

The keynote session, titled “State of the Global Cruise Industry,” featured a panel of industry leaders including Bud Darr, Chief Executive of the Cruise Lines International Association; John Chidsey, President and Chief Executive of Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings; Jason Liberty, Chairman and Chief Executive of Royal Caribbean Group; Josh Weinstein, Chief Executive of Carnival Corporation; and Pierfrancesco Vago, Executive Chairman of the MSC Group’s Cruise Division. The panel discussed key industry issues for 2026 and beyond, including opportunities and challenges, supply and demand, reaching new markets, infrastructure investments, the role of private destinations in expanding guest experiences, and important updates on sustainability topics.

Specialty programming throughout the week added depth to the event, including Tech Day, the Retail Days, and the Entertainment Showcase, each spotlighting key sectors shaping the onboard guest experience. Sustainability remained a central focus, with initiatives including partnerships aimed at supporting ocean health and reducing environmental impact.

Safety and sustainability were recurring themes throughout the conference. Artificial intelligence emerged as a central topic, with a session bringing together leaders from MSC Cruises, Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings, HAL-Holland America Line, and Amazon Alexa. The panel examined both the potential and the limitations of AI in cruise operations, with discussion focusing on the importance of data foundations, system integration, and lessons learned from early pilot programs. The panel reinforced that meaningful impact would depend on how effectively AI was embedded into existing operations.

New elements also proved popular among attendees, notably the Wellness Oasis, a multi‑sensory sanctuary designed to explore the future of wellness at sea through immersive programming, innovation, and connection. The Wellness Oasis featured 6 immersive zones: the Reset Pod for mindfulness and mental clarity, the Mat for fitness and functional vitality, the Lab for recovery and optimisation, the Sip Bar for functional beverages and nutrition, Future of Beauty for treatments and technology innovation, and Culture Corner for global wellness rituals.

Seatrade Cruise Global is scheduled to return to the Miami Beach Convention Center from April 5th to April 8th, 2027.
