Seabourn’s Seabourn Quest has resumed service following what the company describes as the most comprehensive interior refurbishment undertaken across its fleet to date. The drydock programme introduced upgrades throughout the vessel’s accommodation, public areas, dining venues and wellness facilities, with the objective of refining the onboard environment and enhancing guest comfort.
Following completion of the refit, Seabourn Quest returned to her Mediterranean deployment, where she will continue operating through November 2026. The vessel is scheduled to sail a series of 7-day itineraries between Dubrovnik, Fusina (Venice), Istanbul and Athens, with calls at ports and yachting destinations across Croatia, Greece, Montenegro and Türkiye. These voyages can also be combined into longer 14- and 21-day cruise programmes.
According to Seabourn President Mark Tamis, the refurbishment represents a significant investment in the guest experience. He indicated that particular attention had been given to the areas where passengers spend most of their time, including suites, lounges and entertainment venues, with the aim of further enhancing the ship’s onboard atmosphere.
Among the most notable changes is the transformation of The Club, which has been redesigned with a more intimate, speakeasy-inspired character. The venue now features a revised layout, upgraded bar facilities and new lighting arrangements intended to improve circulation and create a more cohesive setting for live entertainment and social gatherings.
Elsewhere on board, public spaces have been refreshed with new carpeting, updated furnishings and design elements inspired by the movement and textures of the sea. The atrium, corridors and stairways received new floor coverings, while the pool deck was fitted with a new sound and lighting system and refurbished teak decking. Seabourn Square was redesigned to provide a more residential atmosphere through the introduction of new furniture and bistro-style seating, while the Observation Bar underwent a further refresh with updated carpets and furnishings.
The vessel’s spa facilities were also upgraded, including a redesigned reception area, new fitness equipment and enhancements to the salon through revised finishes, lighting and furnishings. Retail spaces were similarly modernised with updated displays, finishes and lighting, aligning Seabourn Quest with recent improvements introduced across the company’s ocean-going fleet.
Dining venues formed a significant part of the refurbishment programme. The Colonnade received new flooring, carpeting, seating and an updated service area designed to highlight live culinary preparation. In The Restaurant, new carpets and drapery were installed to create a lighter and more contemporary appearance.
Accommodation upgrades were carried out across all suite categories. New mattresses and wool carpeting were fitted throughout the ship, while Penthouse Suites and higher-category accommodations also received updated veranda furniture.
The design approach behind the refurbishment sought to create a more residential and relaxed atmosphere rather than drawing inspiration from any single destination. Seabourn’s Senior Manager of Interior Design and Assets Management, Linh Nguyen, explained that the project focused on material selection, scale and spatial flow to produce environments that feel balanced, familiar and comfortable for guests.
Sustainability formed an important component of the project. More than 20,000 square metres of carpeting were replaced, with the removed material diverted from landfill and earmarked for conversion into carpet underlay for future refurbishment projects. New carpeting installed in suites consists of biodegradable wool products designed to support a closed-loop lifecycle approach. Mattresses removed during the refit were dismantled for recycling, while lounge furnishings were donated to an Italian non-profit organisation for reuse within local communities.
The 2026 refurbishment programme also included improvements to crew accommodations, facilities and working areas. Seabourn noted that the project builds upon previous enhancement initiatives and represents the most extensive interior investment undertaken in the company’s history.
To coincide with the vessel’s return to service, Seabourn is offering promotional savings on selected ocean and expedition voyages, together with shipboard credit incentives on certain winter sailings.
