Azamara Cruises has unveiled its 2027 Overland Experiences (cruisetour) collection, introducing 18 curated land programmes across 7 countries designed to extend exploration beyond traditional port calls. The initiative reflects Azamara's continued emphasis on destination immersion, allowing guests to temporarily leave their ship for multi-day land journeys before rejoining the vessel at a later port.

The new collection offers access to a range of cultural, historical and natural attractions that lie beyond the reach of conventional cruise itineraries. Each programme is fully coordinated by Azamara and includes accommodation, transportation, guided touring and selected meals, providing a seamless transition between sea and land travel.

According to Shandra Stoeterau, Director of Land Product Development at Azamara, the 2027 collection was developed to provide deeper cultural engagement through historic landmarks, local traditions and natural wonders. She indicated that the programmes were designed to move beyond standard port visits and offer more meaningful exploration of destinations, reinforcing the cruise line’s focus on immersive travel experiences.

Among the featured programmes is the Bora Bora Overwater Bungalow Escape, available to guests sailing on an 18-night Pacific Islands voyage departing on January 5th, 2027. The 3-day extension includes a stay at Hotel Le Bora Bora by Pearl Resorts, with overwater bungalow accommodation, lagoon access and opportunities to explore one of the South Pacific’s most recognised island destinations.

The Majestic Laos & Vibrant Hanoi programme, departing on March 14th, 2027 as part of a 19-night Southeast Asia itinerary, offers a 5-day journey through Laos and Vietnam. The experience includes visits to Vientiane, Luang Prabang and Hanoi, combining colonial-era architecture, historic landmarks and regional cultural traditions.

Another featured option, Shanghai, Xi’an & Beijing, accompanies a 14-night East Asia cruise departing on April 2nd, 2027. This 5-day land extension includes visits to several of China’s most significant historic sites, including the Terracotta Warriors, the Great Wall, the Forbidden City and the Temple of Heaven.

The 2027 Overland Experiences programme further strengthens Azamara’s destination-focused strategy by combining small-ship cruising with extended land exploration. Through these coordinated journeys, guests are offered access to locations and experiences that complement the cruise itinerary while maintaining the convenience of a fully integrated travel programme.

The collection will be available on selected sailings throughout 2027, with capacity limited on each departure. Azamara has indicated that advance reservations are recommended due to the small-group nature of the experiences.
