Virgin Voyages will enter Northern Europe for the first time in summer 2028, deploying Valiant Lady on the brand's inaugural Scandinavia and Baltic programme from a new homeport in Amsterdam.

The season will feature 6 newly developed itineraries, each including at least one maiden port call, with the programme culminating in the vessel's first crossing of the Arctic Circle under the Midnight Sun. Bookings are scheduled to open on August 14th, 2026.

The deployment marks the latest expansion of the adults-only cruise line's network following its entry into the Alaska market. After establishing operations in the Mediterranean, Caribbean and, more recently, Alaska and the U.S. West Coast, Virgin Voyages is extending its portfolio with a dedicated Northern Europe season.

The programme is centred on Four Voyages, One Endless Summer, comprising four Northern Europe itineraries linked by two one-way repositioning voyages between Barcelona and Amsterdam. The cruises will combine calls at Scandinavian and Baltic capitals, overnight stays in selected ports, scenic cruising through Norway's fjords and an Arctic Circle crossing.

Passengers wishing to sail the complete programme will once again have access to the Summer Season Pass, following its introduction on previous Mediterranean and Caribbean deployments. The package enables guests to book all four Northern Europe voyages consecutively aboard Valiant Lady.

The Season Pass includes accommodation in a Central Sea Terrace cabin for two guests, onboard beverage credit, priority dining reservations, complimentary shore excursions on each voyage, an Arctic Circle excursion, upgraded internet access, laundry services, thermal spa access on sea days, priority embarkation and seamless transfers between consecutive cruises. Guests will also receive a Nordic-themed welcome package featuring regional food and beverage items, exclusive apparel, destination guides and selected travel accessories.

Virgin Voyages stated that the continued growth in repeat passengers has provided the confidence to expand into new regions, with Northern Europe identified as the next stage in the brand's development. The company indicated that the itineraries have been designed to showcase the landscapes, cities and seasonal characteristics of the region, including the Norwegian fjords, Baltic capitals and the experience of sailing beneath continuous daylight north of the Arctic Circle.

The cruise line also noted that onboard programming has been adapted to reflect the destinations visited during the season, with new experiences created specifically for the fjords, Baltic ports and Arctic Circle crossing.

The 2028 programme is scheduled to begin with a departure from Barcelona on July 9th, 2028, while Valiant Lady is expected to cross the Arctic Circle on August 14th. The season will conclude with the vessel's return to Barcelona on September 4th, 2028.
