A 44-year-old passenger from Georgia has been arrested after Carnival Glory returned to Port Canaveral, Florida, following allegations that he assaulted two children while they were playing aboard the ship.
According to investigators, the incident occurred during the voyage as a group of children were playing tag in one of the vessel's corridors. Authorities allege that the man, identified as David Crosby II, had been running alongside the children before stopping suddenly and striking two of them. One child was reportedly punched in the face, while the second was struck in the stomach.
Investigators said one of the children sustained a bleeding lip and later complained of a headache, while the other reported abdominal pain following the incident. The alleged assault was captured by the ship's onboard security cameras, which were reviewed as part of the investigation.
Law enforcement authorities stated that Crosby appeared to be heavily intoxicated at the time of the incident. During questioning, he reportedly told investigators that he could not recall what had occurred.
After Carnival Glory arrived at Port Canaveral, officers from the Brevard County Sheriff's Office took Crosby into custody. He was charged with child abuse and booked into the Brevard County Jail. Court records later showed that he was released after posting a US$20,000 bond as legal proceedings continue.
