Investigators on Monday, December 11, were looking into how a crew member went missing from a Royal Caribbean cruise ship over the weekend.
An unidentified 24-year-old pool attendant aboard Vision of the Seas didn't report to work as scheduled on Friday, according to Owen Torres, spokesman for the cruise line. The ship sailed from Galveston TX.
Torres said the U.S. Coast Guard had been notified and a ship-wide search had been conducted for the crew member.
Security footage showed the 24-year-old man from Mauritius entering a deck area at about 6:14 p.m. on Thursday. However, he did not return.
