A cruise company due to make its first call in Olympia (Washington USA) over the weekend cancelled at the last minute, Port of Olympia revealed.

American Cruise Lines announced in 2017 that its 175-passenger American Constellation would stop in the port as part of a 10-night Grand Puget Sound itinerary. It was to arrive at Port Plaza dock Saturday night, according to Jennie Foglia-Jones, Port Olympia's spokeswoman.

On Friday, September 21, port officials were told that the cruise ship wouldn't be coming due to “operational matters,” Foglia-Jones announced. Another visit in early October was also cancelled.

Earlier in the week the cruise company had objected to a fee for longshoremen to tie up the ship, but Foglia-Jones added that had been handled.
