RSSC-Regent Seven Seas Cruises announced an order with Fincantieri S.p.A., Italy, to build another luxury ship.

With delivery due in late 2023, the newbuild will be a sister ship to the newest ships of Regent, Seven Seas Explorer and Seven Seas Splendor.

Accommodating up to 750 passengers, the new vessel will be Regent's 6th all-suite ship. Details about the newbuild's itineraries, restaurants, amenities, suites, and onboard experiences are to be announced leading up to the 2023 debut. Cruises for the inaugural season open for bookings in 2021.

The vessel's contract price is approximately EUR475 million (US$544 million). According to RSSC, it had obtained export credit financing to fund 80% of the contract price, subject to Italian government approvals.

Currently, Fincantieri is building Seven Seas Splendor at its Ancona shipyard, with that vessel slated to debut in 2020. In 2018, RSSC also completed a US$125 million fleet renovation project specially designed to bring its cruise ships in line with the Explorer-class vessels.
