Dramatic footage emerged from a video of a Greek passenger ferry fighting gale-force winds on the way from Venice to Patras.
The Captain of Asterion 2 ferry (1991-built, GT 31804 tons) Christophoros Skamangas (who is from Syros Island) battled the waves to safely reach the shores of Greece.
The video was recorded in Strait of Otranto, separating Adriatic Sea from Ionian Sea. According to ferry's passengers, at the time the video was recorded the wind was blowing between 9-10 on the Beaufort scale.
