Virgin Voyages celebrated a milestone this week as Scarlet Lady became the first ship in the fleet to visit Iceland, marking the brand’s official entry into the Nordic region.
The ship made its inaugural call at Akureyri on August 3rd and is set to continue with visits to Ísafjörður followed by an overnight stay in Reykjavik, as part of a 10-night voyage from England to Iceland and Norway.
This visit is part of Virgin’s broader destination strategy aimed at engaging an adult audience through immersive travel experiences.
According to Virgin Voyages, Scarlet Lady laid the foundation for their current expansion and continues to drive the brand forward. The company underscored the robust global demand for its distinct ocean-going holiday model.
Meanwhile, the newest vesse, Brilliant Lady, is nearing its debut. Having completed final outfitting at Fincantieri’s Palermo shipyard, she is now en route to the UK and Lisbon for preview events. The MerMaiden voyage is scheduled to begin from New York City on September 5th.
Her maiden season will cover four U.S. homeports—New York, Miami, Los Angeles, and Seattle—culminating with Virgin Voyages’ first voyages to Alaska in 2026.
In advance of her official launch, Brilliant Lady is hosting a 4-day cultural immersion at sea for crew members named “The Virgin Way,” designed to reinforce the company’s people-first philosophy and prepare staff to deliver the brand’s signature hospitality.
