Windstar Cruises announced the addition of a new casual outdoor restaurant via partnership with the renown US culinary writer and TV host Steven Raichlen.
Currently in development, the new "Star Grill by Steven Raichlen" will be a modern, al fresco dining venue serving grilled, rotisserie, and smoked specialties, including meats, seafood, and vegetables cooked with global techniques and flavors, also craft sauces and gourmet side dishes.
The alliance of the cruise company with Steven Raichlen was born from the desire to create a contemporary, yet casual outdoor eatery that is bespoke of Windstar's tagline "180 degrees from ordinary", an inviting escape where passengers can enjoy inventive cuisine while embracing the casually intimate experiences and alfresco ambiance of small ship dining.
Star Grill by Steven Raichlen will debut on Windstar's Star Breeze (February 2020) and then rolled out to the sisterships Star Legend (July 2020) and Star Pride (November 2020) as part of company's USD 250 million "Star Plus" fleet renovation program of drydock refurbishments.
Located just steps away from Star Bar (open-air, top-deck bar), Star Grill by Steven Raichlen will feature deck-side dining with seating for 95, two carving stations, a selection of mouthwatering dishes with a modern twist, and refreshments enjoyed in a relaxed, al fresco bar-restaurant area with dining tables starboard and lounge seating portside; all served with a sea view.
Diners may enjoy select local beers and wines, as well as cocktails specially-designed for the new venue with a summertime vibe, such as Strawberry Pimm's, Strawberry + Basil Smash; Raspberry & Melon Slushy; Pineapple & Coconut Slushy, all served from the Star Bar.
