Virgin Voyages Reveals Name of Second Ship

The premium cruise brand Virgin Voyages (virginvoyages.com) announced on November 19 the name of company's second ship - Valiant Lady - with planned inauguration in May 2021.

For the inaugural season (2021) the newbuild will be deployed in Europe for 7-day Western Mediterranean cruises roundtrip from homeport Barcelona Spain. The voyages (Sunday departures) will feature overnights in large port cities in Italy, France and Spain. Bookings will be opened on December 19, 2019.

On November 12, 2019, Richard Branson (Virgin Group's founder) announced that the second Virgin ship (Valiant Lady) will be seasonally homeported in Sydney (NSW Australia). Branson was in Sydney to launch a partnership between Virgin Australia Airlines and Virgin Voyages and promote affordable Australia-Caribbean flycruise deals on Scarlet Lady. In the Caribbean, all Virgin ships are homeported in Miami Florida and their itineraries visit Bimini Bahamas (private island destination).

Valiant Lady is the 2nd anticipated vessel to be added to the fleet of Virgin Voyages. The first ship, Scarlet Lady, starts operations in April 2020. Virgin Voyages plans a fleet of 4 sisterships - two more units are on order and scheduled for deliveries 2022 and 2023. All Virgin cruise liners are from the Italian shipbuilding company Fincantieri and constructed at its Sestri Ponente Shipyard (near Genoa).
