SunStone’s new expedition cruise ship Ocean Explorer launched at CMHI shipyard in China

SunStone’s newest ship - Ocean Explorer, was launched at CMHI's Haimen Shipyard (Jiangsu China), on August 12, 2020. The vessel is the fourth INFINITY-class (ULSTEIN CX103 design) expedition cruise ship.

Ocean Explorer will be operated by the small cruise company Vantage Travel Cruise Line (subsidiary and brand owned by Vantage Travel Service Inc, brand name "Vantage Deluxe World Travel") and is due to be delivered in 2021.

INFINITY-class cruise vessels are 104 metres long, and 18 metres wide, having a draft of 5.1 metres. They feature a passenger capacity 130-200 plus 85-115 crew. Ocean Explorer has 15 single cabins and 77 staterooms.

Ocean Explorer is the third in a series of ten "Ulstein CX103" design (Infinity-Class) expedition vessels, with sisterships Greg Mortimer (2019-Aug), Ocean Victory (2020-Sept), Sylvia Earle (2021-Oct), Ocean Odyssey (2022-March), Ocean Discoverer (2022-Sept), Ocean Albatros (2022-Oct) plus 4 more (TBN) units. The patented ULSTEIN X-BOW design is one of the unusual for expedition ship features. The vessel also utilizes the latest technologies in naval engineering.
