Costa Cruises' flagship powered by the most advanced propulsion technology currently used to reduce emissions - LNG, Costa Smeralda, is the 3rd ship of the company to return to service, after Costa Deliziosa and Costa Diadema.

The week-long itinerary of Smeralda has 5 departures from Savona, Italy, from October 10 through November 7, 2020, dedicated to the rediscovery of the best of the country with ports of call at La Spezia, Cagliari, Naples, Messina, and Rome (Civitavecchia).

For the liner, this is a real homecoming following the Coronavirus (COVID-19) emergency pause, as Savona has been her homeport since December 21, 2019, when she made her first voyage after leaving the Meyer shipyard in Turku where she was constructed.
