Windstar Cruises to resume operations in Tahiti with new promotion

When Seattle-based Windstar Cruises resumes sailings, the first destination it intends to visit is the Islands of Tahiti with some of the world’s most beautiful spots like Moorea and Bora Bora.

Windstar offers an Air + Hotel package from Los Angeles International Airport including a round-trip flight from Los Angeles CA, pre-cruise accommodations and post-cruise dayroom, ground transfers in Tahiti, and a 7-, 10- or 11-night boutique voyage in Tahiti. On cruises including air and hotel booked through the end of 2020, passengers also receive the promise of a free beverage package (unlimited select spirits, beer, wine, cocktails, minibar items), guaranteeing an extra Mai Tai beneath a palm tree.

Guests can alternately choose US$300 in shipboard credit to put towards experiences like an onboard SPA treatment or shore trips like SCUBA diving, reef snorkeling, harvesting Tahitian black pearls. Those who choose to book only the sailing still receive a US$100 shipboard credit.

Windstar Cruises typically sails year-round in Tahiti, where journeys take place on the 148-passenger motorized sailing ship Wind Spirit that was specifically designed for the area and capturing the South Pacific winds.

Next year, Windstar’s Wind Spirit will sail from Tahiti to Asia, visiting some of the smallest island nations on the planet. Starting in November, the 312-passenger Star Breeze will take over Tahiti cruises through March 2022, giving passengers a chance to sail on the larger, newly renovated yacht in the destination.

Windstar Cruises plans to return to Tahiti when it's deemed safe. The line is currently offering cruise dates beginning in late March 2021. However, should things change, its Travel Assurance Booking Policy allows passengers to cancel 2021 voyages up to 48 hours before departure.
