AOV-Atlas Ocean Voyages announced that the luxe-adventure brand would proceed with the inaugural Antarctica season for AOV's first newbuild expedition ship World Navigator.

AOV is a subsidiary/travel brand owned by Mystic Invest Portugal.

From November 2021 through March 2022, World Navigator will sail 9- and 12-night Antarctica expeditions, leaving roundtrip from homeport Ushuaia Argentina.

AOV cruisers will be able to enjoy an adventure to Antarctica and witness seals, walruses, penguins, whales and large sea birds as well as awe at the landscape and towering icebergs. The company has chartered its own private jet to bring passengers directly to Ushuaia to embark the cruise ship.

As part of the company's "All Inclusive All the Way" commitment, complimentary private charter jet service shortens the time it takes for vacationers to reach and return from Ushuaia and avoids extended layovers and overnights in an international airport, which are common with commercial flights.

All guests and crew members are fully vaccinated on AOV’s Antarctica expeditions.

Aboard, guests can visit places like Deception Island’s caldera, as well as Neko Harbour and Brown Bluff at the Antarctic Peninsula's northern tip.

  • November 28, 2021, the voyage will bring passengers "within the umbra of the Moon" on December 4, for an Antarctic solar eclipse.
  • February 2, 2022, departure offers a crossing into the Antarctic Circle in pursuit of wildlife spotting.

Travelers will enjoy being closer to the waterline and sight Antarctic marine wildlife from the ship’s Water's Edge Lookout, the lowest observation bow in the cruise industry and the only one with heated, wrap-around benches for extended time on deck.
