Alphonse Island (aka Alphonse Atoll) is a private island in Coralline Seychelles (Outer Islands) and part of the Alphonse Atoll group comprising 3 islands (Alphonse, St Francois, Bijoutier). The atoll is located approx 400 km (250 mi) southwest of Mahe Island (on which is Victoria - the country's capital city, principal port and primary cruise port),

Alphonse Island is just 2 km (1 mi) north of St Francois Atoll (grouping two islands - Bijoutier and St Francois). Alphonse Island is the only one that is inhabited (population under 200), all of whom work for IDC (Islands Development Company Ltd). The island has a total area of 1,7 km2 (0,7 mi2), while the atoll group covers a marine area of approx 5,5km (3 mi) in diameter.

The island is served by Alphonse Airport (crossing it diagonally) with regularly scheduled weekly domestic flights (by IDC) to Mahe's Seychelles International Airport. Air Seychelles operates charter flights to Mahe.

St Francois Atoll

St Francois Atoll (in the Alphonse Group) is separated from the Alphonse Group by Canal de Mort (deepwater sea channel). St Francois Atoll groups St Francois Island and Bijoutier Island, and both are currently uninhabited. The islands' combined land area is 0,5 km2 (0,2 mi2).

St Francois Island has land area 0,47 km2 (0,18 mi2), coastline 10 km (6 mi), and is less than 30-min boat ride from Alphonse Island. St Francois is approx 9 km south of Bijoutier.

Bijoutier Island has land area 0,03 km2 (0,01 mi2) and coastline 700 m.

St Francois Atoll is a nesting habitat for hawksbill turtles and green turtles.
