Bigge Island is located off the coast of Kimberley region, Western Australia. It lies approx 6 km (4 mi) from mainland Kimberley, from which it's separated by Scott Strait. Bigge Island is located between Montague Sound and York Sound and nearly 19 km (12 mi) north of Cape Pond.

Bigge is the 2nd largest island of Bonaparte Archipelago (following the Augustus Island), with a total area of 178 km2 (69 mi2). It has an irregular shape, length of approx 22 km (14 mi) and width of approx 6 km (4 mi).

The isle has lots of shallow bays on all its four sides. The largest one is called Boomerang Bay on the western coast of the isle.

The traditional owners of the region are the Uunguu peoples of the Wunambal language group. Their name for Bigge Island is Wuyurru.

Indigenous Australian rock art still exists on the cave walls and cliffs around Wary Bay.
